DUKE NUKEM 3D LET'S PLAY (#22): Lunar Apocalypse 3072
16We start the stream with our 60-Minutes of building using Mapster32, the built-in level editor for eDuke32, which is our source port of choice here on this channel. We flesh out the 90's era mall, this week tackling miniatures to create the illusion that we are smack dab in the city.
Aymeric 'ck3d' Nocus has graced this channel with his levels from the very start and has released another new map to make sure that continues with the 2024 release, Lunar Apocalypse 3072: A Space Oprah. This map takes the entire second episode of Duke Nukem 3D, Lunar Apocalypse, and reimagines it as one giant level that is seamlessly connected, hitting all the greatest hits to slap anyone familiar with the original with nostalgia, while offering a very new and unique experience on its own. If this sounds familiar, it's because he did it before with the 1st and 3rd episodes, L.A. Meltdown & Shrapnel City respectively, but since this is his reimagining, he switched the order around so we end as all things should: In Space!

What we do in these streams is showcase user created content to show what kind of passion and creativity this niche community has crafted to show others what Duke Nukem 3D has to offer for any Retro Boom Shooter FPS lovers, or even old Duke Fans (like myself) who may have not dipped their toes into the user content world. Additionally, we take a look at how these 2.5D games create their 3D world from a level design perspective as I try to learn from those who came before me since I'm currently making a map of my own for Duke Nukem 3D using Mapster32, the included level editor for eDuke32.
