DUKE NUKEM 3D LET'S PLAY (#33): Demolition
17With a fitting name (Given the map), map-author Devastator unleashes a map from 2008 called Demolition. This one has some modifications to it, all of them designed to increase the destruction level to 11 to create an intense, action-packed level for Duke Nukem to blast through. So let's take a peak and see how it plays!
Then we go back 10 years from the last map to Godzilla 1998 by Thomas L. Harrell. A visually great map from an author that seems to have dropped this nice little treat and then vanished!
Then we tried a Dukematch map called The Binn by Chris Bruzzi & Mike Martin from 1996, mainly for the visuals. A nice little city map that had more secrets then I expected for a Dukematch only map.
What we do in these streams is showcase user created content to show what kind of passion and creativity this niche community has crafted to show others what Duke Nukem 3D has to offer for any Retro Boom Shooter FPS lovers, or even old Duke Fans (like myself) who may have not dipped their toes into the user content world. Additionally, we take a look at how these 2.5D games create their 3D world from a level design perspective as I try to learn from those who came before me since I'm currently making a map of my own for Duke Nukem 3D using Mapster32, the included level editor for eDuke32.
