Duke Nukem 3d | User Map | Apprehension Arizona [CGS]
NOTE: Sadly, I had no choice but to drop the awesome music track that came with the map to avoid any possible copyright issues here on YouTube, so I chose a music track from the base game. EDIT: Just got a Content ID match from using "Taking Names" on my previous video xD (the OPL version!).
I also tapped "Enter" a bit too hard to skip the cutscene, and because of this those end of level stats are displayed only briefly. Feel free to pause the video if needed.
Apprehension Arizona (requires EDuke32) is a desert / hi-tech style, mostly a linear level, but if you want to do a level that has linear progression style, do it like this. Duke has a mission of some sort going on here, but I didn't bother checking the story elements out because I wanted to just to play this map, because it's a ton of fun, which is why I have played this map quite a lot lately.
As you can tell, this map is not only gorgeus when it comes to outdoor canyons and so on, but it also offers some much awaited challenge as well. There isn't too much ammo around, and because of this, I didn't want take any risks and flush the run down from the toiler by taking out the remaining enemies from the canyon / desert area. It is a bit of a shame in a way that you just simply don't have the time to admire how beautiful the outdoors are, simply because you really have to fight for your way into the hi-tech base as fast as possible to survive. There you must clear a handful of side areas and take down the Cycloid Emperor. It is a challenging fight too, because you're being distracted by other enemies, and the Emperor actually has a pretty decent chance to kill you if are at a certain distance while he fires his "predicting" rockets, not to mentions that he can shoot at you prior to the actual boss fight itself.
A spacious and a very well made desert / hi-tech map.
