This is the complete Duke Nukem II soundtrack in MIDI format, edited to be General MIDI compatible. The game's original soundtrack was in IMF format, which used Sound Blaster/AdLib (OPL2) instruments and did not support the GM standard.

The original IMFs were converted to MIDI using DRO2MIDI. The resulting MIDIs were then edited with Cakewalk Pro Audio 9.03. Since IMFs do not store tempo information, the MIDIs all have an internal BPM of 60 which does not reflect the songs' "real" BPM.

The MIDIs were tested with scc1t2.sf2 (a soundfont of GM.DLS, which is used by the Microsoft GS Wavetable SW Synth). While the instrument quality of that soundfont is definitely not amazing, it is at least very well balanced. The MIDIs should also sound good on other balanced GM synths and sounfonts. Making MIDIs that sound well balanced on *all* soundfonts would be impossible, and so the MIDIs may sound strange or wrong on certain soundfonts.

The recordings in this video use EYE & I Productions' Voice Crystal 4 MB GM v4.1 soundfont, a commercial soundfont. Since the MIDIs can be downloaded and easily played with the standard MS Synth, I decided it would be unnecessary to use scc1t2.sf2 as the soundfont for the video's recordings.
