The 3rd Treasure game that I'm playing for YouTube. This version of Dynamite Headdy is based on the Japanese version translated into English while keeping all the other things the Japanese version had that the official English version didn't have.

This includes different characters names. When some come up, I'll label them as "Japanese Name/English Name".

This game is unique in that it's both a story in the game's sense & like a stage in a play. The story explain that North Town was under attack by the forces of the evil puppet known as King Dark Demon.

The hero of this story, the good puppet Headdy, comes to save the day, but he ends up getting captured as well, & sent to be incinerated with other innocent puppets. Luckily, he bails everyone out before that happens, and now they're on the run!

Thus, literally setting the stage for Scene 1-1.

While Headdy is running, his fellow puppets end up getting recapture by probably the same red robot that caught them all before. If you can destroy him fast enough, you'll save these pink puppet again and get a Secret Bonus Point, as a girl's voice will tell you in full English! One mission I have in making this playthrough is to get all of these Secret Bonus Points, so expect to hear this girl's voice a lot.

From there, you just have to keep running away as Headdy while avoiding any potential attacks and such. At the end, Headdy stops, but ends up getting smashed the very background that Scene 1-1 took place in.

The culprit of this is some sort of bear-car creature called Maruyama/Trouble Bruin. He is one of King Dark Demon's highest ranked minions, and he personally just wants to take down Headdy just for the satisfaction of it & also because he can't stand Headdy being the star of this game or its story instead of himself.

This starts off the first boss battle with him. He has small toy pull up a Japanese painting so the duel seems more epic. The awesome music helps, too.

While and after he charges up energy, he becomes invincible & tries to ram you down. He'll then slam right into the wall and collapse. When he stops flashing and gets up, you can hit him on his head. Then he'll repeat this attack & you can eventually hit his head again on the same instance.

You only have to do this twice to beat Maruyama/Trouble Bruin, then you get to move on to Scene 2-1. Headdy is now on a mission to defeat King Dark Demon. "YEEEEES!"
