Note: This playthrough uses a relatively recently discovered patch, which disables the auto lock-on system that normally locks the player onto the first enemy they hit with a normal attack, making it impossible to turn afterwards. (see here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qHUzuyzu1k4)

Since I'm playing on an emulator, I put the game to double speed whenever there's a section without enemies to speed things up. There's a Fast Forward logo in the upper right corner whenever this happens.

The reason for using the Chinese version is simply to show off the dub since I haven't seen much footage of it around. For that reason I play with event cutscenes on and don't skip them.
For weapon stats, the main ones that actually matter if I get them are Musou Charge 無雙增加量
and Attack Power 攻擊力
----------------

Lu Xun is quite strong overall. His main issue is that some of his charge attacks have him in the air, and getting hit in the air knocks him over in one hit instantly. His C4 is flagged as "in the air" from the very start, so even if he's still standing on the ground before the backflip slash, getting hit will still knock him over. The second slash of C4 is very strong, and breaks guards late into the game as well. It seems it's programmed with higher damage to offset the enemies being in the air from the first hit.
He also has the fastest movement speed in the game which helps as well. With his unique weapon he's faster than horses pretty much.
On top of all that, his unique weapon has the Death Element on the C4 backflip slash, which in this game's incarnation is an instant kill to anything that isn't an officer, so the last three stages are a breeze.
It doesn't always work thanks to that "in the air" flag on the attack, but even if you get knocked over a bunch of times, it's still faster than trying to fight the enemies normally. It's especially useful for fighting commanders, as all of their bodyguards have the same stat buffs that the commanders get, making them much more resilient than regular soldiers, but the Death Element still works on them no problem.

Lu Xun, just like Sun Quan last time, starts at Chi Bi, but it's not an issue to clear the map even with base stats. The enemies felt much less resilient here than with Sun Quan. Like always, going behind Cao Cao's camp and closing all the gates in advance makes the battle simpler.

He Fei is the same as always, with tons of crossbows and the officer pileups. There isn't much point in doing the Zhang Liao events after you've already done them once to get the rare item and unlock Zhang Liao and Sun Quan. On the other hand if you defeat him right away, Taishi Ci's unit stays alive to help out a bit and Zhang Liao drops Attack+ which can be put to use better than a rare item you already have. This way you can't trigger the automatic win by having Sun Quan charge Cao Cao's camp, but that's beneficial as you can get drops from Xu Chu, the two gate captains, and also the Life Up +10 jar next to the left gate.

Battle at Fan Castle is the shortest stage, with only two (or three if you take long) officers to fight. A bunch of boxes are in the lower parts that get flooded, so I get those first, and then it's just defeating Guan Ping and Guan Yu. Technically this is worse than the regular fillers since you can get more stat boosts from those.

Yi Ling is again just destroying Shu one by one, with the added bonus of getting Lu Xun's unique weapon here - the requirement is to help Zhu Ran carry out the fire attack, navigate the Stone Sentinel Maze and then defeat Zhuge Liang. You can go through the maze normally, or you can also enter it, then go around to the west, and go back in through the exit, and that also counts as clearing the maze, although it is pointless when the solution is the same every time and you just have to go clockwise around the thing.

The rest of the stages are the same as Sun Quan's, just much easier thanks to the Death Element.
Fun Fact: You can notice Sun Quan's stage list had Shi Ting and Nanman Campaign in the wrong order. It should be Nanman first and then Shi Ting, but he's the only one with Shi Ting first.
