10A bit of a tutorial and general info about the angled characters glitch that is very helpful in speedruns.

0:00 - if you try to use a switch attack at almost the same time as you climb a ladder, you cause a ladder break-out. The most notable and possibly only effect of this is that your character is left at a slight angle.
0:14 - you can also do break-outs by simply using a prompt as you switch weapons from the menu. The timing remains highly precise either way you attempt to do these break-out glitches, though.
0:31 - so what's the use of having an angled character? Not much, other than that while angled certain attacks sink you inside ground. Depending on the amount you sink, you can pass through objects and even walls in the game world.
Thin barrack gates and pieces of fence can be passed under with most weapons' sprint attacks. The best attack for going under walls is the Twin Swords' sprint attack - it's so powerful it almost works like universal wallclip. However, there are still some areas (like the outer boundaries of each level) that cannot be breached with this tactic.
Overall, it's a fairly elegant trick that allows plenty of shortcuts in most levels of the game, as long as you can find a ladder to start it with.
