Easy Red 2 (Update 1.2.0f8) - All Reload Animations in 21 Minutes
35An WW2 FPS shooter indie game made by one guy.
It's good to be back playing this game and still a great indie game that I enjoyed. Especially Easy Red 2 has been updating, quite a lot. The dev said they're going to change the weapon animations. On paper, it should awesomes. But in reality, those complete rework at not finished, yet. Fuck it. Might as well make a video now before I update the game.
Now before I get to the weapon animations, let's recap my review on what the game is about. It's a WW2 shooter and objective is to capture. Very much like Offensive mode from some crappy WWI indie game, but you can drive tanks and vehicles. The voice acting is getting little better and sounded less cringy. In fact, I really like the cringy poor voice acting back in Easy Red 1. It has a lot of charm for an ambitious indie game. But I appreciated Corvostudio for continuing to suport this game and I do, too. Shame his two previous WW2 games are flawed and needed a lot of work. This game, however, does need work, too. At least it's better in every way.
Okay let's be honest. While the historical accuracies and having a fuck ton of guns are great, the machine guns beat everything that you could literally rule the battlefield, both defensive and offensive. But can still die, easily. Especially not suited for tank combat. I personally don't think fixing this issue won't be possible. But whatever. Oh, don't bother acting like a badass, even if you wear a Soviet armor, cuz dying from headshot can be really bullshit.
For weapon animations, it's pretty much the same as my last video: stiff and medicore animations. The sounds, however, are getting better. Makes the gun very metal on ASMR reloading. The Soviet weapons are slightly better animated being they were recently added. I did notice the Thompson gun has been changed which that's nice. Finally I didn't notice that guns can be loaded one bullet on a chamber which that's cool. I know I know, Corvostudio is currently improving the animations, but I rather wait until he gets is shit done. For now, I'll be sticking with stiff animations. It is better than Easy Red 1 though, but I think the dev should add the Walter P.38, MP 18, MP 28, Double Barrel shotgun, and Lewis Gun when he finished the Normandy DLC. I really hope it's like the first game, but remastered, especially the Juno Beach.
Overall, it's a good game. You should definately buy it for chill WW2 experience. And yes, for a million times I say this, any WW2 games like this is better than Vanguard.
