0Entropy Survivors is an exhilarating new bullet hell roguelike where you control a powerful mech and a sharpshooting space frog. The game nails progression—a hallmark of great roguelikes—by ensuring every run feels meaningful. Whether you're collecting currency to upgrade weapons, completing missions to unlock new worlds, or earning new mechs and weapon types, Entropy Survivors keeps you hooked. Even failure feels like progress, driving you to jump back in for another round.
Each world features a unique biome with multiple levels, easing you in with simpler stages before throwing you into the chaos of tougher challenges. Survival, however, is never guaranteed. My first run ended in minutes amidst a relentless barrage of bullets and enemies. The isometric gameplay is punishing yet rewarding, with quirky power-ups adding a fresh twist. A yellow arrow guides you to these treasures, and they’re anything but ordinary—like turning your mech into a pinball to smash through foes or rolling up enemies into a Katamari-inspired wrecking ball. Even health pickups, like healing butterflies, feel charmingly unique.
Much like Vampire Survivors, gems collected during each run allow you to level up and enhance your frog or mech. Upgrades are tailored to your loadout—piloting a jet mech, for instance, lets you boost flight duration or damage output, while your frog might deploy sticky bombs or hack enemies into allies. These upgrades are temporary, resetting at the end of each run. Permanent progression comes through gold coins, spent at animal totems back at the base. These totems unlock lasting upgrades, making future runs a bit easier.
Customization depth is one of the game's standout features. Unlock new mechs with unique abilities, arm your frog with different weapons, and even personalize both with fresh paint jobs. Collectibles add another layer, enhancing weapons or unlocking entirely new gear.
Adapting to the controls took some practice—managing separate triggers for the mech and frog felt awkward at first. But after a few frantic runs, the mechanics clicked.
What truly sets Entropy Survivors apart is its sheer variety. With five distinct worlds, each packed with multiple levels, the game constantly offers new challenges and surprises. Online co-op for up to four players adds even more replay value.
This game easily earns a spot among my favorite roguelikes. Its impressive depth of customization, rewarding progression, and engaging gameplay make it hard to resist diving back in for just one more round. Hope you enjoy my video.
