0Bronana is a lively and enjoyable new roguelike survival game that combines fast-paced action with a robust build variety. The game equips you with two weapons, one in each hand—whether melee, ranged, or a combination of both, allowing for fun experimentation. The gear you collect throughout the game also affects your character’s stats, offering plenty of room for customization. While the weapon selection is relatively modest, especially compared to other roguelikes where you might have dozens of weapons, this keeps the experience focused and manageable.
The game operates on a room system similar to Tiny Rogues and Hades, where you choose your path and, in turn, the type of rewards you’ll receive. While the rooms have distinct visual themes, the scenery doesn’t impact gameplay, which feels like an untapped opportunity for added depth.
One of the highlights of Bronana is the wide array of items that can modify your stats, alongside costume pieces that let you visibly alter your character’s look. It's especially fun to see your little yellow hero decked out in gear like goggles and a jacket, all while blasting enemies with twin pistols. There’s a modest selection of skins to unlock, though the meta-progression could feel a bit more expansive.
The real variety comes from the action-roguelike loop, where you can experiment with over 200 items and nearly 40 weapons to create unique character builds. Each run offers new possibilities, keeping the gameplay fresh and offering just enough variety to encourage meaningful experimentation.
