In a race which saw penalties, DNFs, safety cars and multiple pit stops, none of it affected Valtteri Bottas as he won his 3rd Gran Prix for the season.
Clarke started the day on pole, but was forced into an early pit stop, after colliding for Tsunoda in the first corner. Despite the early setback, Clarke still managed to hold off challenges, to allow Bottas through at the end of lap 1, where the Finn led and eventually won.
Bottas little to no competition, and easily took away the race at the #monzacircuit . Clarke battled back from 22nd, to find her way as high up as 8th, before being penalized with a 5 second penalty, following a collision with Verstappen.
All her efforts to get back into the points were in vain, after she served the five second drive thru penalty, and was only good enough for 16th.
This weekend's events means Bottas moves to the top of the stands, ahead of Clarke by 11 points, as we have Russia, Mexico City, Brazil & Saudi Arabia to follow.
