Party like its 1984? That's what Epic Games is telling its fanbase. Epic Games unloaded a nuclear bomb right into Apple and Google's app stores demanding both sites reduce its profits. First it offered an in app option for direct payments to Epic Games which violates Apple's and Google's app store terms. This got it promptly removed from both stores. They then launched a legal case against Apple and Google citing anti competitive behaviour. They pre planned all this and even had time to rally the troops (ie their fanbase) with an ad mocking Apple by using the same style ad Apple did back in 1984 referencing the book of the same name. (I'm sure George Orwell approves the viral bump for his book.)
This is a developing story - and we'll have more as it develops.
