Epiphany (Gnome Web) new features and performance on Juno - elementary OS 5.0
Let's take a look at an often ill-treated browser on elementary OS: Epiphany, or GNOME Web, as it's known now. Epiphany is still the default browser on elementary OS 5.0 Juno, so I decided to take a look at its new features there, as well as comparing performance between Epiphany on Juno and on Loki. But why stop there ? I also compared its performance to Firefox and Chrome on Juno, to get a feel of how it behaves compared to these two juggernauts.
The results were kinda surprising !
All tests were run through Browserbench, on a laptop with a COre i5 CPU (7300HQ), a GTX 1050TI, 8Gb of Ram, and the OS and browser installed on an SSD.
