ESA ANNOUNCES CANCELLATION OF E3 2023 EVENT
The Entertainment Software Association (ESA) has announced the cancellation of the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) for 2023, as many big names in the industry, including Microsoft, Sony, Nintendo, and Ubisoft, have decided not to participate in the event. The email sent to participants stated that the event did not garner enough interest to showcase the size, strength, and impact of the industry. This would have been the first in-person E3 event since 2019, as the 2020 event was canceled due to COVID-19, while a digital event was held in 2021, and the 2022 event was also canceled. The Summer Game Fest hosted by Geoff Keighley will replace E3 again this year, promising to be better than last year's event. The Summer Game Fest will be on YouTube's grand theater on June 8.
