Establishing frame advantage in Tekken 7 with a simple jab
76While I was making my way through the ranks the other day - I have noticed a surprising lack of basic jab setups, with people always mashing out the full random jab string, thus giving their turn away.
So, if you're one of those jab string lovers, I hope you are watching this video because there are potentially better things you can do other than mashing the full string.
The regular 1 jab is often overlooked by beginners for no apparent reason, even though it is the most accessible way to get some frame advantage.
Whenever you are struggling with pressure or trying to create some space remember that your generic 1 jab puts you at + whenever your opponent blocks it. You can pair it with magic 4 or any other move that nets you anything worthy, like pushback.
Obviously your jab is a high, so it won't protect you from moves that naturally crush highs - but it works wonders against jab pressure and it can help you to create some scrubby setups (like the one with magic 4). So keep that in mind!
