A year later, 12 rolls are still terrible for both PvP and PvE in Dark Souls 3
Instead of arguing with people back in the day I felt like it'd be smarter to let it settle and make a proper response. Well, this is sort of my proper response, on why 13 rolls SUCK. Yeah, almost a year later.
So... no, the existence of PvE content doesn't justify it, because you don't need so many rolls anyway, but PvP does suffer from it a lot more... because that's what usually keeps the game going.
...and no, not having to level END or keeping your SL in check is not a solution or even remotely a valid argument. With the base END, you get as many rolls in Dark Souls 3 as you'd get after leveling your END to a good damn level in say, Dark Souls 2. Point is, even without leveling your stuff, rolls in Dark Souls 3 have cheesy amount of iFrames (for having fast roll go up till 70% equip load) and you still get way too many of them.
...and NO, there is no boss encounter that requires you to mash roll 50 times - that'd be stupid. There are videos of people beating this game without even rolling once. If you truly feel like this game is all amount challenge at heart - why not just accept it and play the game without rolling?
