The tutorial boss of the game is... optional surprisingly enough. Gashtor Only has 300 HP but you're gonna find Health is much lower on enemies in general in this game. For example the dragons have 35000 HP in EO1 while here in EO2 they only have 12000 HP. Now as for Gashtor himself he has one major skill and that's a fang attack that will do a fair bit of damage with a high chance to paralyze. It's basic but the fight is early enough that you don't really have the skills you'll want yet and paralysis is a higher tier status that most cures will have. So overall I would say this is a significantly tougher tutorial boss than Fenrir especially if you take him on as soon as the quest begins. And for killing the boss you get... nothing, outside of this one side quest there is no reason to fight Gashtor... eat your heart out fear and hunger.
