TL;DR - link upgrading + link length vs planet radius

basically all the things you didn't want to know about planetary interactions but were afraid Muffy was just gonna blather on about anyways.

no, i'm not autistic. darned close tho.

conclusion after all those masochistic videos? don't bother looking for only the smallest planets to colonize: remember, if you can easily lengthen links and cover a quarter of the planet without breaking a sweat, that means everyone else and their dog is hogging the sweetest spots on the planet.
The corollary to this is, if you think about it, there's literally less hotspots on a small planet compared to a large one
Another way to look at it is: less square meters of the stuff so the "density" of the "resource" is related in a way to the radius of the planet when you calculate how much m² there is to have hotspots of that density - because it's the same density no matter the radius, amirite?

my head hurts. ouch. fucking math.

this is why you don't provoke Muffy...get his attention and he just won't let go, find out more shit about you than you knew about, analyze it all and then use it as intel to basically curbstomb & waterboard you at the same time. Go ahead, poke the bear.
