[edit (few days later): the irony is i'm having more problems being patient with the new 2.5/5.0 second delay than i'm having success against lag induced game play issues trying to play eve 'normally'...i think the only 'macrokey' i'll use in the future will be linking 'stop' to my G5 key]

TL;DR - what is "reasonable" legally speaking. cutting through forum trolling to get to how you can use the eula to improve your QoL.

caveat: (glossary) "Macro" - my use of the word is strictly to connote macrokeyboards and NOT automated scripts the likes of which have been around since ultima-online.

https://community.eveonline.com/support/policies/eve-eula-en/
section 6. subsection A. paragraph 3.
"...an accelerated rate when compared with ordinary Game play..."

macro keyboards and eve-o preview are legal because you aren't using these devices to gain items/etc at ..."[insert above blurb]", at least in the way i'm using the macro buttons on my keyboard.
I'm sure some poor little troll offended by my existence will contact CCP about this video and they'll tell the troll to pound sand.

of course, some idiot will try to use this explanation i gave as a get out of jail card when using EULA breaking software or hardware. i hope they get banned for their trouble, and i'll have no sympathy for fools who misunderstand/misrepresent what i've said here today.

at the end of the day, eve-o preview allows me to play with my screens maximized instead of minimal resolution and cascaded, and the spreadsheet of eve reduced because of that QoL improvement; also, macrokeys like G5 for 'ctrl+space' (instead of mapping 'stop' to a single keypress using ESC settings) is a nice QoL improvement for me, along with the very ocd macros i have for my command bursts (10sec between each activation) & hardener activations (2.5sec between) that gives me a tiny bit of capacitor leeway to deal with trigvalian spawns in emerging conduit systems while mining.

when viewed in the strict eula sense, with a knowledge about how the legal system is set up, it boils down to "is this what a reasonable person would compare to ordinary gameplay?" in the context of gaining items/etc.

This is how you interpret how CCP views the game, not how the idiot trolls on the forums try to peddle as Axiomatic. If you listened to the trolls on the forums i'm sure their "interpretation" of this video is either 1) an endorsement of RMT botting, because ccp hasn't banned me instantly 2) illegal and i should be banned instantly by ccp for breaking the eula - and they'd even quote the chapter and verse but not the content of the eula...have you ever wondered why forum trolls never quote directly from the eula? ironic isn't it how they know to quote "6.A.3" but never the actual substance. makes you wonder if they've EVER read it.
[/rant]
edit (next day): i forgot about the forums trolls (i rarely go on them anymore)...one popped into the chat section with some BS about multi-key press is anti-eula blah blah. gotta love cherrypicking, kneejerk ruleslawyering - i remember alot of that decades ago during my AD&D era. so i forgot the third type of troll:
3) cherrypicks the eula and twists that section into an unreasonable irrational attack on the video using out of context single word references.
edit (couple days after): thinking about my module activation delay, i realized the troll who commented recently about it being SOOO illegal. i'll betcha those are the type to run for isboxer bots the minute they think a loophole has appeared. "methinks the lady doth protest too much" (4)

anyways, after all that talk about legality, i honestly don't think my OCD attempt at staggering command bursts & hardeners actually saved me any capacitor usage. it might a bit, and i'll have to see it in action but it seems to me like in the long run my cap usage is just the same...i'm just hoping by being able to stagger things i can lower the impact a starving triglavian has on my orca before i can kill it with my Praetor II.
i suck at math so i'm sure it makes zero difference.
