That's right Krikzz and StoneAgeGamer.com have brought us yet another EverDrive product. This time for the Sega Game Gear color portable video game system.

Like the original EverDrive, the EverDrive GG is really easy to use. Simply load your Game Gear or SMS ROM files onto the provided microSD card, load the microSD card into the EverDrive board, pop the cartridge shell together and load the cartridge like you would any other game. The built in menu system will allow you to pick and play any games that are on your microSD card.

The EverDrive GG comes with everything you need including the manual, 2 free Firmware/OS upgrade coupons, mini Philips screwdriver to open the included cartridge shell, plastic cartridge holding case, the 2GB microSD card and microSD to SD card adapter to load ROM files using any computer with an SD card reader. You can purchase an optional microSD to USB adapter if you do not have an SD card reader on your computer.

The EverDrive GG works with almost every Game Gear game released and since the Game Gear and Sega Master System (SMS) share the same basic hardware you can also load and play most SMS games on your Game Gear as well! Maximum flash size is 1MB (8Mbit) and there is 32K for SRAM save states (for games that have battery backup save options) witch can also be saved and loaded from the microSD card for more storage.

Now I understand this is a pretty obscure product and that most of you probably won't be considering this one. But if you're a fan of the Sega Game Gear like I am it's a pretty awesome idea. Imagine having your entire Game Gear collection in one cartridge! With 2GB of storage it's now possible! You may also be able to play games that never got released or are too hard to find in your region.

The EverDrive GG like all of the EverDrive products so far has been wonderful. They are easy to use and relatively fast to load games into flash memory using standard SD cards rather than more obscure CF cards. They're also usually cheaper than all the other flashcarts on the market. They might not always have some of the serious developer features of other products but the fact is they're usually cheaper and easier to use and for me that's exactly what I want.

So far Krikzz and StoneAgeGamer.com have made these EverDrive flashcarts for the Genesis, Sega Master System, Super Nintendo SNES and Game Gear and now there's an N64 version on the way too!
