85Finally a new Jaguar game!
This Formula 1 Polygon racer (think Virtua Racing) was released in Nov of '94 and was developed by Rebellion Developments (Alien vs Predator) so it should be great! Unfortunately a slow frame-rate mixed with twitchy controls makes it damn near impossible to play without hitting the walls. Despite crashing on every other corner I still manage to win some races. Because of this I think the developers made the game too easy knowing that the controls were too hard.
Graphically I think the game looks great. You have to remember this is the same year that Virtua Racing hit the home market on the Genesis (with help from the SVP chip inside the cartridge) and the 32X add-on. I think the game certainly looks better than the Genesis version and in some ways I think it looks better than the 32X version. There are some areas the 32X version is more impressive such as the more colorful backgrounds and of course smoother frame-rate but overall this looks just as good.
It's a shame they couldn't have got the frame rate up or at least tweaked the controls to make it a little easier in the corners because the game should have been amazing. Instead it's not so great.
