EVIL ZONE - A PSX/PS1 Hidden GEM - I've been trying oldschool games for the last few weeks!
Hello, so I've been trying out oldschool games for different systems during the last couple of weeks. My plans in the near future is to play those old gems that I never played in the past, or old favorites that I want to revisit again.
Consoles like the GameBoy Color, GameBoy Advance, Nintendo, Super Nintendo, Playstation, Nintendo 64, PlayStation 2, Nintendo GameCube, the Sega Genesis and the Nintendo Wii.
I've already played quite a bit in some of the games without recording.
Expect me to play more of the game in this video, and to play games like Tear Ring Saga which is a great strategy-game for the PlayStation made by the same guy who made Fire Emblem 1-5 for Nintendo.
I never played many of these games in my childhood.
I did try this game with two characters. I actually sucked in the beginning when I tried to play it like a fighting game - but when I finally got the hang of how this game plays differently from other fighters I actually really enjoyed it.
You block with square, attack with triangle and then move with the directional bottons or the analog stick. Sounds simple right? Just two buttons, but - when you press triangle to attack you can make different attacking moves based on what directional button you press at the same time. And if you press a directional button when you're far away from your opponent then it will result in a ranged attack - and if you do the same near your opponent it will end in a physical close-combat combo.
This game is obviously anime-inspired and is a parody on all the generic anime tropes of the 90's.
It's gorgeous for a PSX/PSOne game and using the ePSXe emulator on the computer the maximum graphics could be reached. It's the most gorgeous fighting game for the PSX that I've played.
