Evolution of Display Tech for Video Games
Old games are getting harder to play faithfully to the way we used to play back in the day.
As a gamer who started playing videogames back in the early 90s, I was always uncomfortable when watching a recent gameplay videos of an old game with the screen stretched, or with some filter that softens the image in a way that completely mischaracterizes the art of the game and how it was intended to be played.
And that's why I created a YouTube channel called CCF Gameplay, with the aim of recreate the visual aspect of what it was like to play on those consoles/arcades/handhelds in the old days as faithfully as I could, using 3D modelling, rendering and photo manipulation.
I believe this may cause a better sense of nostalgia for those who lived around the time these games were released, but it also serves as a "simulated" registry of what it was really like to play them at the time, for those who aren't there with us old gamers.
