Evolve Alpha Bucket Gameplay
8The PC Alpha is over? The website does mention it was extended to Tuesday but matches are down it seems at the moment. But had some good videos here. This was one. Why? because I was actually able to play Bucket in a real full length game instead of the one where the monster just let us kill him.
This gameplay I have no commentary for since well, having trouble finding a good mix for the audio and if I couldn't find a good balance I just decided to have no commentary.
So what's this game like? Let this copy pasta answer that:
The game supports up to five players, four of whom team up as Hunters to take on a single, player-controlled Monster. The Monster's goal is to initially avoid the Hunters, and consume as many of the smaller AI creatures on the map as possible so that it may evolve into its more powerful forms. The Monster becomes a much bigger threat once evolved, meaning that the longer the match continues, the bigger an advantage the Monster will have. Much like Turtle Rock Studio's previous efforts Left 4 Dead and Left 4 Dead 2, there is a big focus on teamwork and Hunter players will have to use their various special skills to take down the monster.
Despite being strong in numbers, the hunters also have to be wary of other dangers within the arena. Wildlife can attack if provoked, including a Venus flytrap type of plant that will capture a teammate and hold them until killed or any other creatures.
The monster wins by killing all of the players OR destroying the power relay upon reaching stage 3. Players win upon killing the monster or surviving until the round ends.
Lol, what else.... Those carnivorous plants really are obnoxious though. I don't think they can even do anything to the monster but they'll wreck your day as a Hunter.
The matchmaking is decentish but it's best to play with friends and it stinks how long it took me to even play Bucket after I unlocked him lol. Seems everyone loves playing the support role!
Bucket is not the initial Support character, he's the one you got after hitting rank 1 on Hank. The things that make Bucket unique are..
1.the Flying UAV, Bucket detaches his head and launches it off as a camera to be used to find the Monster. VERY USEFUL. but your body is vulnerable/immobile during this time and you'll have to catch up with the others,
2.Laser Guided Missile Launcher: Pretty good damage and laser guided but slow.
3.Flying Sentries AI controlled sentry bots that attack the monster and other enemies. 5 are allowed at a time.. I love these things. They make things unpleasant for the monster and can be used to protect your body while you launch off too.
Oh and also that ending lol, that as REALLY something.
