Urge to play Final Fantasy VI again RISING. This is the trial The Dragon's Neck featuring a battle vs Ultros and his good friend Typhon! Seafood soup is NOT on the menu eh? We'll see about that!

The music? It's the Decisive Battle straight from Final Fantasy VI, yeah no remix but it works anyhow! If there's ever a new version of this fight though they really should it'd be interesting to see hear Soken's take on it.

The battle itself? Oh man this one takes a lot of practice honestly. I say you don't technically wipe since you don't really die but if everyone gets knocked out of the arena it restarts. Typhon of course loves to use sneezing related moves that will knock you out of the arena.

So the best way to do things is to focus on Typhon. DPS players will be afflicted with Imp now and then as well. When that happens you need to stack on the tank handling Ultros and get hit by Aqua Breath to build stacks while avoiding Ultros's AoEs. Then Typhon will eventually glow and charge up a move that'll knock you all out. The imp players need to use imp punch on Typhon to stop him. Use all the stacks you can on him as it takes multiple hits.

You do this again but then it gets progressively harder with Typhon making you have to constantly move or suffer getting blown away/killed. Once more all the DPS imps will have to punch him to cancel out his move.

After all that the imp shenanigans cease but now Typhon casts a sneezing move that you need to be in the center to handle otherwise you'll get knocked out of the arena. Just keep moving to the center when he spams his sneezes.

Also he'll occasionally target one player with an AoE sneeze, stay away from the other during it.

Think that about covers it but yeah it's weird how this is way harder than Shiva Hard Mode IMO, Ultros is a comedic villain but man they put up a fight!
Also.. I HATE the RNG on the dice rolls. Lol, 2 points off from that Wind Up Ultros. Guess I'm going to be grinding this one until my luck turns around since I want it.
Edit: I have since won it after a Warrior run where I taught people the fight, sometimes the RNG Gods are not cruel.

So yeah, loved the Hildibrand side story this patch. Definitely worth checking out. To get to this instance you'll need to clear The Trouble with Truffles.
