The game plunges you into a future where humanity's survival is at stake due to a sudden outbreak of prehistoric creatures. To combat the dinosaurs, you are armed with powerful suits developed by an AI named Leviathan. Soon however, you discover Leviathan is evil and forcing suit pilots to compete in a series of 5 versus 5 matches to gather data.
With 10 types of customizable exosuits spread across 3 classes, Exoprimal promises a variety of playstyles. However, in reality, the game falls short in terms of true diversity. Nonetheless, the chaos and intensity of the battles create a sense of thrill, even if it leads to a messy and mindless experience where you often find yourself firing blindly amidst explosions and mayhem.
While the game offers the option of cooperative play, the level of chaos also hinders any meaningful teamwork. Nevertheless, my initial few hours with Exoprimal surprised me with how much enjoyment I derived from it, but I do question whether it has the lasting appeal to justify a full-priced purchase.
Battling hordes of dinosaurs is as fun as it sounds, so If you're seeking a frantic and action-packed adventure in a dinosaur-infested world, Exoprimal delivers just that, but with its limited depth and repetition I don't see the game having much staying power.
Overall, I give this game 63 percent.
