The extensive abandoned mine that Chuck, Paul, and I explored way up in the mountains was initially discovered in the 1860s. It was a lead and silver mine. We were impressed with the extensive tunneling, shafts, and raises that we found inside. The mining camp had a few historic buildings, and they were in great shape!
