Extended One-Up Sound Effect Glitch in Super Mario Bros 3 (NES) - A Wild Glitch Appears!
In Super Mario Bros 3 for the NES, you can cause a strange sound effect to play if you swing a raccoon tail right after you collect a 1-Up. It doesn't have any uses in a speedrun or anything like that. But it's a fun little glitch that creates a cool sound.
Swing a raccoon or tanooki tail ONE TWELFTH of a second after the "1-UP" text appears on screen, and instead of hearing the normal, iconic extra life sound effect, you'll hear an extended glitch sound instead!
