Qualifying is over and in a shock to no one, it is a Red Bull on pole position. But it is not Max Verstappen on pole, instead it is his teammate Sergio Perez on pole and Verstappen is down in P9, but that is not the only shock. Mercedes are struggling for pace and Lewis Hamilton was knocked out in Q2, whilst George Russell was struggling to get through to Q3. For Ferrari Carlos Sainz had a great session and ended up in P3 just behind the Aston Martin of Fernando Alonso. Both of their teammates had difficult sessions, Charles Leclerc crashed in Q3 and will start P8 while Lance Stroll did not even make it out of the first Qualifying session. Haas and Alpine all had brilliant sessions with Kevin Magnussen an excellent P4 and Gasly P5 with Ocon P7
