The Miami GP is over and Max Verstappen managed to defeat Sergio Perez to win the race despite the fact that Verstappen started in P9 and Perez was on pole position. But now F1 heads into Europe and the first race on the European Calendar is the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix at Imola and this is where teams are set to bring big upgrades. Can anyone begin to close the gap to Red Bull. Well Mercedes, Aston Martin and Ferrari will be bringing big changes to their car in order to close up the gap. Can Fernando Alonso go one better on the podium after another great third place. This race is also the home race for Ferrari and Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz will be looking to impress after Miami was a step backwards from Azerbaijan in Baku.
Can Mercedes start to show more consistent pace after a back and forth feel in Miami where things went well in the race but not in qualifying. Lewis Hamilton will be looking for a better weekend as going out in Q2 would be a disaster in Imola due to how difficult overtaking is. George Russell had a great weekend and was able to beat both Ferrari's on track. What will happen in Imola who knows.
Rain is expected and pirelli will be bringing a new spec of wet tyre, it will be interesting to see if these new Wet tyres can allow the drivers to compete in more wet conditions.
