Sprint Qualifying in Qatar is over and it is Lando Norris in the Mclaren who has taken sprint race pole position and Mclaren are looking like they could a very strong team this weekend. They are definitely the fastest car especially with Oscar Piastri also in third place. George Russell in the Mercedes will be lining up in second place as Mercedes are continuing their run of form from Las Vegas at least with Russell. Teammate Lewis Hamilton had a more tricky day and will be starting a little bit further down the order, I don't expect Mercedes to be very strong when it comes to the sprint races but over one lap they did do well. Max Verstappen in the Red Bull had a solid day as well getting the Red Bull as high as it will be meanwhile teammate Sergio Perez once again went out in Q1.

For Ferrari then they are looking very strong for the race but still have work to do for Qualifying as Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz are once again separated by next to nothing.

Finally for Alpine and Haas their close battle for 6th in the constructors continues as Pierre Gasly and Nico Hulkenberg are starting the sprint race next to each other again. But what else did we learn from Qualifying and practice well in this video I am taking a look at the data and doing a data analysis.

Qatar returned in 2023 and is a high speed, high tyre wear circuit, it is the penultimate round of the season and things are closing up between Mclaren and Ferrari so expect them to be closely fighting for the constructors championship.
