Friday practice in Mexico is over and the fastest driver of the day was Carlos Sainz in the Ferrari as George Russell hit the wall hard in FP2 and Alex Albon has a crash with Oliver Bearman in FP1 putting Ferrari and Williams on the backfoot as well as Mercedes. Max Verstappen in the Red Bull has had power unit issues as well and may need to take a new power unit which will compromise his weekend in his championship fight with Lando Norris and Mclaren. Mclaren have brought a new floor and it is only on Lando Norris' car and Oscar Piastri will just have to wait a little bit longer before he gets that. It is looking close between Mclaren, Ferrari and Mercedes as Red Bull look to be a little bit on the back foot currently.

Lewis Hamilton in the Mercedes is still struggling for pace and has the new car but he has work to do as the new car is not providing the pace that they would have liked.

What else did we learn, well in this video we shall find out.

The Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez in Mexico is in terms of altitude the highest race of the year where we see the teams reach Monza level speeds despite running with Monaco levels of downforce, this is because the higher altitude leads to there being less drag and also the cars produce a lot less downforce.
