Factorio 0.16 Megabase 1K Science Attempt
Well, we have everything set up for attempting to get 1K science per minute in Factorio.
Well, just about... I setup another rocket launch factory to hopefully bring our space science production over 1K per minute. After letting it get up to speed, I start the 1K science test.

SPOILERS:
Well, things start off good. I'm researching Artillery Range 7 which takes 128,000 science to complete. The problem is that with everything running, I'm getting a bit under 40 updates per second, instead of the usual 60. This will cause the test to take about 1/3 longer than the just over 2 hours it should takes. For about the first hour, everything is keeping up, but we drop a bit from 1.2k per minute to 1.0k. I decide to attempt to build another rocket launch facility, as the space science production isn't keeping up with the rest. This however causes some additional lag, lowering ups to near 30, and causes additional trains to get ore to produce the belts, assemblers, inserters, modules and other items needed for the build. This extra traffic on the rail system doesn't help the already overloaded production. Needless to say, I fall short of 1k per minute by the end of the test. I have some ideas to help fix the issues, but they will wait.
Next time, we will be doing something different. I have a few other interesting things I want to try with this world, which is by far the largest build I've done in Factorio so far.
