Factorio 0.16 Megabase - Clearing the way for what's next
I'm back with a bit more work on my megabase.
I've been working on getting 1K science, but I came up a bit short. I didn't have enough iron smelting to keep up with the rate needed, and the train network wasn't up to handling all the traffic 1K science was needed things transported at.
So I'm going to have to redesign things before getting back to attempting 1K science.
So, I'd like to take a bit of a break before getting back to 1K science. In the meantime, I'd like to try something that I've seen a few other players do, but that I have never attempted.
There is slightly over 200 items in the game, counting all mined and crafted items and liquids. I'd like to build a train that had a wagon full of each item.
This is going to take a while to build and set up, but will be in interesting change of pace. I want to not only build this train, but I don't want to up my original base to construct the items for the train (although I'm planning to use the smelters and large production areas I built for 1K science). I'd like to build new production for these items, and produce each item at a rate of at least one a second (which is difficult for some items). I'd like to do this entirely belt based, except for actually transporting the items to the train.
So in this episode I finish clear a new area of biter south of my current base where I'll set up this new production area.
