Factorio - Build the ultimate Factory!
12Factorio is an Alpha game that you can pre-purchase and a demo is available. The game is about helping a stranded astronaut built tools and machines to recover parts of his space craft. It is a bit of a mix of Minecraft's redstone machines and Space Chem's designing of waldos programming. A demo and the full game is available at https://www.factorio.com/
You have mining drills, furnaces, conveyor belts, inserters, and automatic assembler machines. You can set these up to mine ores which are brought to furnaces, automatically smelted, then brought to assembler machines to make ammo or other useful items. Of course more useful items can't be made directly, so you have to have assembler machines that make wires and gears before another assembler take those and makes more complex items. You plan out how your factory will be organized, built it, and occasionally have to re-arrange everything to allow for new additions, all while trying to hold off the hostile native creatures on the planet!
Needless to say, this is just the type of game that really hooks me!
