Factorio Cellular Megabase - Ep3 - Train Stop State Machine
In this episode, we work out some of the circuit network controls we'll need for our overlapping train stations. We design a small state machine that allows us to track which of three states a station is in: (a) Free, meaning it is currently disabled and not active; (b) Scheduled, meaning it has been enabled, and triggered by a signal indicating demand for a resource; and then (c) Unloading, meaning a train is at the station with cargo, triggered by the arrival of a train at a Scheduled station. Finally, when the train is finished unloading and is empty, the station transitions back to the Free state.
