Welcome everybody! To Let's Play #Factorio ! Part 2, of Mission 2, The base is almost back to be fully operational, we still need a few things more. In the last episode of Factorio we did the red science and we also repair most of the basic production in our factory.
Because mission 2 in Factorio requires from us to make trains we will need green science, for that thought we will need to make automated production of Inserters and transport belts. We have all the raw materials for that we just need to set a good layout. Layouts are the biggest problem in Factorio as the more You build the bigger the layouts must be at some point.
We are already producing transport belts from the last episode of Factorio, so this won’t change much. I just have to transport them to the assemble machines that makes the green science. Problem is with Inserters.
For making a automated production line for Inserters we will need green chips along with iron gears, for the chips thought we also need copper wires.
Setting the right little layout will be the biggest problem. I need to fit in in total three assemble machines, one for copper wire, one for green chips and finally one for the Inserters. Inserters require three different materials in order to be made. Iron Gear, Green Chip and iron plate. So to make the layout fully automated in Factorio, we will need the blue assemble machine, those devices are next in the line of speed in production in Factorio. After setting the production for the Inserters and belts. I will throw those two devices in to one transport belt that will go directly in to green science assemble machine. In Factorio You need materials in TONS!
With that out of the way its time to develop train production. That will need engines the most difficult device to be made in the beginning of Factorio. For that also we will need steel, steel comes from smelted iron Plates. In other words we need to quickly set up production for the trains and secure one of the mines with iron otherwise we will ran out of iron very fast. With steel production on its way I found out that I lack stone to produce walls. Walls are one of the most imported aspects in Factorio as they are needed to defence ourselves from the Bitters that will start attacking very soon as the pollution will get to them sooner or later.
Adding two more stone mines should solve the problem with stone supply for production.
After the engines are been develop I made by myself a few iron pipes along with the remain-ing steel from the steel furnace and move it to a isolated assemble machine, I could automate to pipe production in mission 2, but I do not need that many pipes. This one will make us the engines we need. For trains we need around twenty engines per locomotive. Mission 2 of Factorio encourage You to use two trains, I don’t see the reason here to use two. We will use one train with two locomotives that will travel back and forward between iron and copper outpost to deliver raw materials to our base. But before building the trains remember to fix the tracks first. Tracks to the iron mine have been damaged along with power polls. Fix those as we scout out the area, but don’t connect the place right away, frist we will need defensive structures like towers and walls in order to defend ourself from the nearby bitter base.
