My outlook on this run just had a huge morale boost with the arrival of blue science. We can now start to research the techs for rocket fuel and low density structures, meaning we can stockpile them early and not have to build the full blueprints to produce 1 item per second. Alongside a quick defense upgrade, the factory is looking better and better each day. Will we make it in under 8 hours? Only time will tell.
