(I'm not sure where this is in the story, but at one point, Kaden either A. Gets his switch blade taken away from him before being sent to the psychiatric ward, or B. He sneaked it into the psychiatric ward. At this point in this story, please interpret that Kaden retrieved it from his house after him and Braxton escaped from the psychiatric ward, or he had it the whole time.)

Braxton walks out of the mysterious place, not even realizing it. A few paces out the door, and he looks confused. He is not quite sure what just happened, but the cube that he's been keeping changed. There seem to be a rune of every side except for the top and bottom. He tries to take his mind off of it as he realizes that he's probably in danger; he should try to get into his house. There's the possibility that his parents will take him back at least for the night. His hope is small. However, it may be too late to call the police or anything like that.
"Should I find Kaden?" Braxton thinks to himself. He might not be alright. Braxton is beating around the bush. He's trying to find an excuse not to go back to his parents. He thinks it will end badly.
So instead, he travels through the backyards of the neighborhood to get to Kaden's backyard.
