This is a casual playthrough of Fallout 3, Karma decisions will be made according to what I feel is right.

2 DLC Down, 3 more to go!

The Pitt is definitely a huge improvement over Operation: Anchorage, but it still lacks a lot of content once you finish the story, sure you can go gather any remaining ingots and make use of the ammo press, but other than that there isn’t any point to hang around there otherwise.

I made a mistake once i finished the arena and didn’t pick up my stuff from the locker, that would have made kidnapping the cure baby much more painless as I ran out of Stimpacks while the raiders were fighting me, but i managed it in the end so all's well that ends well i guess…

Now the whole deal with the DLC is the ethical question of whenever you side with the Raiders or the Slaves, i sort of rushed through the whole thing so i probably missed a lot of important dialogue, but the gist of it is that the raiders are keeping the slaves working until the cure is finished, then they will released the slaves once they are all immune.

Meanwhile the slaves seem to lack the knowledge to be able to procure the cure or any skills to organize themselves together to get the work done. But then again, slavery is slavery and they are treated like shit by the raiders who don't seem to give a fuck if they all die before the cure is finalized.

The reason i decided to help the slaves is because i believe that this whole situation is a giant powder keg that is ready to blow up any second.

Even if the raiders finalize the cure, how can anybody be sure the slaves will be free? There is no reason to assume that Ashur will keep to his word, even if he did there still the large group of raiders who have been used to keeping slaves in order and doing the hard work for them, i doubt they wouldn't do anything to keep them in chains, even if it means killing Ashur once they are cured.

Meanwhile the Slaves are ready for rebellion and once the shit hits the fan, a lot of people on both sides are going to die, with the risk of the researchers AND the baby being caught in the fighting. even if it didn’t the damage would put them behind schedule and be less likely to be able to finish the cure.

I believe it's not as much choosing which side one thinks is better but more ensuring the least damage to whichever side the player picks. Because without the player's intervention, The Pitt would likely be doomed anyway even if the cure is finished.

Yes, maybe Ashur would have released the slaves in the end, but its only a maybe and we don’t get to see if he keeps his word.

I rather help the slaves, so even if they fail to cure themselves, they at least die free men if anything. But i wouldn't blame anyone who decided helping the raiders is better, it is after all a difficult choice.

In this part: We make our decision and decide the fate of the Pitt, for better or worse…
