Ingredients:
1/4 cup (1/2 stick) unsalted butter
5 garlic cloves, minced
4 scallions, white and light green parts, chopped
2 Italian sausages, casings removed and roughly chopped
Two 8.5-ounce cans artichoke hearts, roughly chopped
2 cups cream cheese, at room temperature
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 cup shredded fontina cheese
Salt and pepper

1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F. Melt the butter in a large sauté pan or skillet over medium-high heat. Add the garlic and scallions and cook for 5 minutes, until fragrant. Mix in the chopped Italian sausage and cook until no longer pink. Add the artichoke hearts and cook for another 5 minutes, until soft. Drain any liquid and set aside.
2. Combine the cream cheese, Parmesan cheese, and fontina cheese in a medium bowl until smooth. Add the sausage mixture and mix well. Season to taste with salt and pepper. Place in a 1-quart baking dish and bake for 20 minutes. Turn the broiler on and broil until the top browns, about 2 to 3 minutes. (Be immensely careful when broiling, especially if you haven't done it before or rarely do it. Keep a close eye on your dish as it can burn quickly.)

So while I may be a picky eater, even I can admit this dip was yummy. I have a sensitive palate so the Italian sausage flavor and artichokes permeated the dish for me, but I can always alter the recipe to fit my own taste. :) This would be a great appetizer or for a cozy night in for yourself or with company. It is monumentally cheesy so be careful with how much you eat. :)
