A playthrough of Fallout Tactics, the third title of the Fallout game franchise that came out in 2001. While a "Fallout" game, Fallout Tactics is considered non-canon in the Fallout franchise established by the numbered titles, though some parts of the story told by the Brotherhood of Steel focused game have been integrated into the storyline as suggested in Fallout 3.

After a series of successful counter offensives against the super mutants, it was time to strike at the leader of the super mutants. The initial losses suffered by the Brotherhood against the super mutants were traced back to a man known as Gammorin. Intelligence indicated that Gammorin was actually Paladin Latham, one of the original Brotherhood members who was onboard another airship that had crashed in the region. General Barnaky's capture, while a heavy loss, did not lead to the super mutants becoming much more organized in battle, as those very tactics were used to capture the general before he could have possible revealed anything about the Brotherhood's methods.

Whatever the reason for Gammorin's betrayal of the Brotherhood, his elimination remained key to defeating the super mutant threat for good. Without his leadership and knowledge, the super mutants would not be much more than a group of heavily armed brutes, which while still dangerous, would lack the means to plan out complex tactics and strategies that had given the Brotherhood so much trouble in the region.

In addition, since General Barnaky had been captured alive, it seemed logical that he would be held prisoner in Osceolla, where Gammorin had made base. The Warrior's squad was to also search for the captive general and free him.

Once in Osceolla, the Warrior and his squad engaged in skirmishes with the super mutants. The positioning and patrols were advanced battle strategies implemented by someone who wrote the book on how the Brotherhood did things. Despite the difficulties, the Warrior's squad make it past the defenses and even discover the ruins of a crashed blimp. Another survivor of the crash, a crazed old man who went by the name "Roshambo," stood nearby.

Roshambo appreciated the company and gave some info that could have been useful, but maybe not. It was hard to sort out the ramblings of someone who was more than a little messed up in the head.

Once inside the base proper, the squad came upon a super mutant lieutenant in his final moments. Mistaking the Warrior for Gammorin, the lieutenant reported his encounter with robots under his dying breath, showing fear towards an unstoppable force that knew no pain and could withstand the heavy firepower wielded by the super mutants with their big guns. General Barnaky had apparently been lost and taken by the robots, during the attack that dealt the lieutenant fatal wounds, so all that was left was to eliminate Gammorin.

While Gammorin did not explain his betrayal, he merely stated that the menace to the west was a greater threat than anything imagined and that the Brotherhood was too slow to adapt because of their adherence to maintaining old ways. Perhaps having an army of super mutants was what he believed would save the wasteland from the menace that stood to eliminate ALL life. Despite having good intentions from his own perspective, Gammorin's crimes against the Brotherhood earned him death.

Recovered from the mission were both historical info valuable to the Brotherhood, and a detonator that could be used to arm the nuclear warhead recovered from Kansas City. While the mission was a success, the death and betrayal by Paladin Latham was sad news to be mourned by the Brotherhood.
