This game is made by LakeFepard.
This game is made in the Sonic Wold engine, that means that Sonic controls like he does in the Genesis games.
LakeFepard added a Metroid-Vania Like upgrade system in this game to make it feel like its own kind of game.
The upgrade in this game is a sword which you can level up by getting these round orbs with a sword silhouette.
Each time the gauge fills up you level up, LV.1 is the starting version of the sword(a basic 3-hit combo) LV.2 means you shoot sword beams from the first 2 hits and LV.3 means that Sonic can do a spining sword slash in mid-air.
This game acts as a sequel to Before the Sequel (even though I don't get where it would take place before Sonic 2 since at the end BoS Sonic and Tails (who isn't in this game) landed on WestSide Island.
