2Testing their Faith. Now with an updated resistance mod, some tweaks to the mod list (no more VIP health boost thanks to an odd conflict, thanks guys), and reshade to maybe give me better AA.
HDR is a huge problem in this game. It looks fine in the streams, in no small part because OBS and its newer HDR-SDR tonemapping are a godsend I wish I had when I was playing Mass Effect LE trilogy here, but partially because it screws with my system display somehow, like I even see my other HDR monitor that isn't running the game change its brightness for no apparent reason when it's launched. That's why I dick around with the settings so often. Couple that with TAA being as bad as it was in 4 (so much ghosting) and SMAA effectively not doing anything, it just reminds me so much of how I eventually had to come to the understanding that I do like these games and have fun with the gameplay, even without the party van chronicles of old, but there are just so many issues that, if they're addressed at all, just get replaced with other issues or features being needlessly cut. I'm totally screwing gear progression by using this mod, but it really is a problem that in vanilla, so many weapons, especially in the rifle category, are literally just a more modern skin of the same damn thing.
