천외마경 진전

허드슨에서 제작한 대전액션게임. 천외마경의 캐릭터들이 등장해 칼싸움을 하게 된다. 1995년 7월 28일 네오지오/MVS기판으로 발매했는데 202메가의 용량인데도 불구하고 CPS2기판의 게임을 보는 듯한 부드러운 프레임과 깔끔한 그래픽과 BGM을 자랑하는 편.

시스템

전체적으로 사무라이 스피리츠 시리즈와 유사한 면이 많다. 4버튼 조작체계, 무기 시스템, 대전 도중에 배경에서 튀어나오는 아이템...등등.

다만 한방을 중시하고 가드 데미지가 낮은 사쇼와는 달리 이쪽은 한방의 대미지는 상대적으로 낮은 대신 가드 대미지를 활용할 수 있는 기술이 몇 있다. 이 기술을 가진 몇몇 캐릭터는 아랑전설 2처럼 압박위주의 플레이도 가능.

사쇼와는 달리 기력 게이지는 처음부터 꽉 차있는 상태에서 시작하며, 초필을 사용하면 자동적으로 차오른다. 단 사용하는 초필에 따라 기력 게이지가 다시 차오르는 속도가 다르다. 대미지가 강한 필살기일수록 더 느리게 차오르는편. 옛날 시대 분위기에 맞지 않게 공중 가드까지 있다.

KOF 96과 마찬가지로 조작감이 나쁜데 특히 →↓↘+공격 계열의 커맨드가 정말 안 나가며 스틱 조금만 안 좋아도 만지마루의 만자 3단 베기 연계가 참 힘들다. 키누의 유귀가 거기에 절정으로 안 나가는 기술로 유명해서 최약캐가 되 버렸다.

CPU의 난이도가 어려운 게임으로 손꼽히는 게임인데 기존 캐릭터들은 그다지 어렵진 않은데 보스캐릭터인 망토 A나 루시페라는 그야말로 충격과 공포 수준의 AI를 자랑한다. 단 대공 AI는 거의 KOF 97 오로치수준이라(...) 웬만한 캐릭터 상대로는 점프공격 위주로 싸우면 된다.
하지만 CPU전에선 공중송충참(점프중 ↑↑+베기) 하나만으로 최종보스까지 순살 가능한 만지마루가 있어 엔딩보는것 자체는 별로 어렵진 않다.

특이한 점은 동 캐릭터끼리 대결할 시 완전히 패배한 쪽은 요괴 너구리(남성)/요괴 여우(여성)로 변하는데 '진 캐릭터는 사실 동물요괴가 둔갑한 가짜다.'라는 컨셉형식으로 넣은 듯 하다. 키누 동캐전의 경우는 여우가 두마리이고 루시페라 동캐전의 경우는 전용 연출이 완전히 끝나야 상대 캐릭터의 승리를 호명하는데 너구리 변신 연출이 우선시되기 때문에 꼬여서 게임이 그대로 굳어버린다. 해킹으로 빼낸 캐릭터에 많은걸 바라지 말자

It is a spin-off of the popular Japanese console RPG series Far East of Eden. As of 2018, it is the only Far East of Eden game to have been released outside Japan

Gameplay

Far East of Eden: Kabuki Klash is a 2D fighting game, similar in play style to Samurai Shodown or The Last Blade, but with the addition of various power-ups and very over-the-top anime-style special moves. Power-up icons appear on-screen at random, either springing out of the scenery or delivered by the Karasu Tengu. Characters wield weapons, which can be lost and recovered during battle

Story

Kabuki Klash is set within the land of Jipang (a reference of feudal Japan). The story follows warriors, often swordsmen, in battles against a range of often comical villains.
