The Secret Woods grove at the top left of the Cindersap Forest. Here is a guide on how to access this and other sources and how to get any obstacles out of the way.

This is the easiest way to get hardwood in Stardew Valley. Large stumps will spawn in the Secret Woods daily and you can get up to 12 hardwoods from them in a day. Chop down mahogany trees to get it. You will need Copper Axe or a Steel Axe at the minimum.

The ways

Chop down a mahogany tree
Process stumps in the Secret Woods
8 more stumps on the left side of the farm if you have the Forest Farm map
Get it by breaking barrels and boxes in the mines
Get hardwood from normal trees if you have the Lumberjack Profession
Get 25 hardwood from Robin after the Feast of the Winter Star (not guaranteed)
