Father and son moment fit for a prince 09.07.12
The Prince of Wales is playing proud father today as he visits the RAF base where one of his sons is serving as a search and rescue pilot.
It is part of an annual summer tour of Wales, which includes a trip to the northern coast where Charles and Camilla are meeting the Duke of Cambridge at RAF Valley on Anglesey.
Flight Lieutenant Wales will show his father one of the Sea King helicopters he captains during search and rescue (SAR) missions and the SAR operations centre.
William has been part of SAR crew "C" Flight 22 Squadron at RAF Valley since January 2010 and last month qualified as an operational captain within the SAR force after two years flying as a co-pilot.
C Flight is responsible for rescues from ships in the Irish Sea and from the mountains of nearby Snowdonia and further afield.
Charles, an honorary air commodore, will also meet his son's colleagues and have a private briefing from Station Commander, Group Captain Adrian Hill.
