The Queen's Own Gurkha Logistic Regiment have been celebrating their 54th birthday with celebrations at Camp Bastion.

The regiment has a multi-faceted role in Afghanistan, running the theatre logistics group.

They manage labour support on camp, the Joint Movements Unit, and the passenger handling facility at the airhead. On top of that 1 Squadron is backfilling the Welsh Guards Police Mentoring and Advisory Group -- so 64 infantrymen are spread across Helmand, training the Afghan Forces.

Forces News joined them for a service Gurkhas perform to their Goddess each Saturday morning.
