Continuing our playthrough with yet another warpskip, which you couldn't immediately tell by looking at its rather high turn count. Since George's original chapter from FE1 has been removed from the game, both he and Linda are recruited in this map, with their villages reachable in 1 turn (by Marth) from one another.

Though the warp is a requirement not to spend several turns having Marth go around the mountainous area, it's the best idea to use it just once, as warp uses are limited on this run and warping Marth to the villages ends up not being efficient in the long run (with better warp uses available, a bulk of them already showcased in previous chapters).

I was surprised to find that Marth can be sent down a different path to get the first village on the same turn as he would by going around, in spite of the forests seemingly slowing him down.

Though you can't quite see it, Minerva takes a Speed Ring on the first turn before engaging several enemies in combat at once. Minerva's mobility and flight make her truly unique in the army until Sheeda is able to promote (which is useful for, like, 1 chapter) so Minerva having high stats is exceptionally critical in the run. 12 base spd is high enough and is what Abel is stuck with until promotion, for instance, but Minerva has to use heavier weapons like silver lances to one-round most enemies, so she really appreciates the extra speed. In this video, she doesn't really need +5 speed to double the enemies attacking her (though it'll help in the future), but this gives her higher chances of avoiding death with slightly higher avo rates.

I make the most out of Kashim's training and feed him 4 enemies, some of whom are weakened first - Kashim can OHKO the pegs on his own, as well as the thief with his Steel Bow. He could've KO'd an extra merc too, but Jeigan was greedy and stole the kill with a steel lance crit. Kashim keeps on growing strength, slowly becoming a powerhouse. This is precisely what we're trying to achieve with him on this run. Since we eventually want Kashim to be using the Partia to attack, he needs to proc Wlv too, all in order to reach 12 wlv eventually. With a growth of only 20%, this is considerably harder to carry out.

Besides getting good levelups, there was one more thing that would constantly go wrong when replaying this map, and that's the mamakute killing one of my characters (either on its own or in tandem with the enemy sniper). The way the enemies are positioned, it is somewhat hard to trespass in the area without triggering the mamakute to aggro with its 7 movement and 1-2 range, and the moment you bait the mamakute, the sniper will likely follow immediately, and your units better not be weakened for the sniper to finish them off. Since the mamakute deals 20 constant damage (albeit unreliably) and most of the party pretty much has slightly over 20 hp, the sniper usually kills someone if he and mamakute are able to attack the same unit. I am more successful on this attempt, forcing the mamakute to breathe on Hardin instead of Abel, leaving Hardin untargetable by the sniper on the same turn.

The sole reason to even want to aggro the mamakute is the Power Ring it drops when defeated. Achieving the KO is kind of a feat, taking into account its huge physical bulk and the power of its counterattack, and its 5 res means even the thunder sword won't deal 10x2 dmg it would against a slower enemy with no resistance stat. Though the sniper ends up not killing anyone, he still makes targeting the mamakute difficult and I can't transfer Minerva's silver lance to another unit, just to give an example, unless I'm fine with Hardin taking the kill experience (which I'd rather not as Abel will be my only promoted cav).

As for the levelups, they could have been better, really. Minerva and Marth get nice offensive levelups, and Kashim procs strength (which is to be expected with his 60% growth), but Abel and Hardin get mediocre ones. In fact, Abel will not proc a single point of str OR spd until his eventual promotion, which sorta handicaps him in usefulness during the midgame and is kind of upsetting to those people following this run who saw what Abel was going to become based on his first few levelups in the early maps. Even with stats closer to averages, Abel is still a force to be reckoned with later on in the game.
