Alright, so, uh, Yuri has kinda betrayed his allies. It turns out, it was never a coincidence that bearers of the four lost Crests were all gathered in one place. Their blood is the fuel that powers the Chalice of Beginnings, and Aelfric wants to use it to resurrect Byleth's mom, of all people. First of all, why is she even here? Second of all, how is her body in such good shape after 21 years of being dead? Third of all, what the hell, dude?

But Yuri, cad that he is, was never actually going to go along with this plan. He didn't come so far just to die here! He gave the Ashen Wolves just enough wiggle room to break free from their restraints. He also had all his people released from the Church's prisons, effectively nullifying the leverage Aelfric had over him, because he was actually working under Rhea the entire time. But none of that changes the fact that the ritual has started, and the Ashen Wolves are steadily losing blood. Like, a lot of blood. It only looks like an aura, though, so I guess it's visually fine? But it's still a lot of blood.

Enter Byleth and the students, the final piece of Yuri's grand scheme! See, we're in the Holy Mausoleum, right where Yuri wanted to meet, and I think we can take this nerd out.

The biggest gimmick to this fight is that there are these red whirlpool tiles that are sucking the blood out of the Ashen Wolves, and the only way to stop them is to plant other people on top of those tiles. Until we do, they'll be losing 10% of their health every turn, and if 20 turns pass before then, we lose. Also, those treasure chests are so not worth it.

If you're looking for strategies, just make sure you keep your healing up. The game has thrown a bunch of concoctions at you for a while now, so use them liberally. The other thing is, you have to block all those red tiles at the same time to actually stop the ritual, so, y'know, you gotta be comfortable going without some units for a couple of turns.

As a boss, Aelfric has thrown off his weighted training clothes. He's got a few more spells in his arsenal, namely Meteor and Ragnarok, as well as abilities like Transmute, Seal Speed, and Seal Movement. Also, he's literally untouchable until you stop the Rite of Rising; he's got 99 Def and Res. In the end, I just did what I usually do: bring all my units just out of his attack range and have them do hit-and-run attacks to finish him off.

(Also, for a while there, I confused Ragnarok with Meteor. Whoops.)
